STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE
Own Avorion on Steam
You'll need a copy of Avorion on Steam. The base game includes multiplayer — no DLC required to join VoidRift.
Avorion on Steam →Subscribe to Required Mods
VoidRift runs the Cosmic Overhaul mod series. Subscribe to all required mods on the Steam Workshop before connecting — they download and load automatically when you join.
View Mod List →Connect to the Server
In Avorion, go to Multiplayer → Join Server and enter the server address below. The server will also appear in the public server browser as "VoidRift" once it launches.
Read the Rules
Give the rules a quick read before playing. It's a short list and keeps the server enjoyable for everyone.

Jump into Discord to meet other players, get server announcements, and coordinate. Most ongoing server communication happens there.
Join Discord →Known Issue — “Server Not Available” Error
Modded Avorion servers have a known glitch where you may see a Server not available error even when other players are connected. This is a Boxelware bug — not a server or mod issue.
Workaround:immediately try to connect again. You'll get an Authentication errorthis time — that's expected. Step away for about 10 minutes, then try connecting once more. It should work.
The frequency of this error is lower if you are fully subscribed and up to date on all required mods before your first connection attempt.
