SERVER RULES
Short list. Keep the server fun and fair for everyone.
New server, work in progress
VoidRift is a new server and still a work in progress. Frequent wipes may be needed to resolve issues as they come up. Once the server is stable, wipes are expected every 3 to 6 months.
Respect All Players
Treat everyone with basic respect. Harassment, hate speech, slurs, and sustained toxic behavior toward any player will result in a ban.
No Cheating or Exploit Abuse
No hacked clients, trainers, or intentional abuse of game or mod exploits. If you find a bug or exploit, report it to an admin rather than using it. First offense is a warning; repeated abuse is a permanent ban.
PvE Server — No Player Combat
VoidRift is a PvE server. Player-versus-player damage is turned off everywhere, so players cannot hurt each other. Take on the NPC factions, pirates, Xsotan, and bosses instead. Do not try to get around this to harm another player.
No Griefing
Even with player damage turned off, deliberately ruining another player's experience is griefing and is not allowed. Examples are blocking their access to stations or repeatedly interfering with their work. Report it to an admin.
No Inactive Base Destruction
Do not destroy the stations or bases of players who have been offline for more than 7 days without admin approval. If a faction appears abandoned, contact an admin.
Global Chat
Every language is welcome in global chat, and no language is prohibited. The server is hosted in the US and English is the primary language, so English helps admins and other players follow along.
No Impersonation
Do not impersonate admins, staff, or other players. Admin accounts are listed on the About page.
No Advertising or Recruiting
Talking about other servers is always fine. Do not actively advertise or recruit for other servers, communities, or services in in-game chat.
Follow Admin Instructions
If an admin asks you to stop doing something, stop. Admin decisions are final. If you believe a decision was unfair, you may appeal by emailing coderift@voidrift.space.
Wipes
The galaxy is reset from time to time. A wipe removes all ships, stations, and resources, and it cannot be undone. The current target is Jan 1, 2027, but that is not a promise: a wipe can happen at any time, and will be announced in the News section when it is scheduled. The AI Assistant
- The in-game assistant answers questions sent with
/ask(private) or/ai(public). Those questions are sent to a third-party AI service to write the answer, and they are kept in a log so the admin can fix wrong answers and spot abuse. - Because of that, please don't share personal information in questions to the assistant.
Appeals & Reports
To appeal a ban or report a player, email coderift@voidrift.space. Include your in-game name and a description of the situation. We do not currently have a public Discord.
